Bilingual children’s books: I cowrote with legendary Turkish children’s book author Fatih Erdoğan, three new titles for Milet Publishing’s My First Bilingual Book series. These picture books, Love, Friends and Sharing, are inclusive and progressive, great resources for families and classrooms. They are currently available in 17 bilingual editions each, and English-only editions of the titles will be out in April 2019.

Milet Turkish Literature Series: Since 2012, I have served as Editorial Director of the Milet Turkish Literature Series, a collection of novels and anthologies translated from Turkish to English, published by Milet Publishing. I am currently working on marketing, publicity and events for the series, in the US and Britain. Featuring works by diverse, established and emerging Turkish writers, including many women writers and formerly imprisoned or exiled writers, the series is a timely and vital contribution to world literature in English. Please see this page of the Milet website for details on the books, and this page on how they can be incorporated in a wide range of academic courses.

I draw from the series in many of my lectures and talks (see below). If you would like me to guest lecture in your class or speak at your event, or if you are interested in booking a talk by an author from the series, please Contact me.

Reading the Way: Inclusive Books from Around the World: For Outside In World, a foundation that promotes children’s literature in translation, I reviewed a selection of children’s books from around the world that are inclusive of and accessible to children and adults with special needs, to recommend titles for translation and publication in English. Please see this page for more on this valuable project.
